Student South Carolina Education Association (S-SCEA) is a club for all education majors and those interested in education. S-SCEA has been an active club at Coastal and in the community since 2009. S-SCEA is founded upon three core values: professional development, community involvement, and political involvement. S-SCEA fulfills their core values by hosting several events in the community. S-SCEA is known for their involvement in the Read Across America event at Waccamaw Elementary every year. S-SCEA also plays an active role in mentoring. This semester S-SCEA plans to initiate an Outreach to Teach Program dedicated to revamping a local schools library, or classrooms. At their first meeting on September 13th S-SCEA had 11 people commit to joining S-SCEA. Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month in KH 206.  President Dana Frangipane encourages all education members to consider joining S-SCEA. “The benefits of joining S-SCEA are endless,” said Dana Frangipane, President of S-SCEA. Students interested in S-SCEA can contact Dana Frangipane at defrangi@g.coastal.edu.
