Dr. Jeanne Cobb, Professor of Literacy Education, and five early childhood preservice teachers presented a workshop at the Technology at the Beach Conference held at the Sea Mist Conference Center in Myrtle Beach on Friday, March 30, 2012. The workshop was entitled, “Jazz Up your Early Childhood Classroom with Digital Stories.” The presentation was an outgrowth of a class assignment in EDEC 377, Strategies for Teaching and Learning with Children’s Literature. Each preservice teacher presented his/her original digital story to the group of attendees and described the reactions of young children to the lively, engaging format. The students who presented at the conference were: Stephanie Azbell, Jocelyn Andrade, Shanacy Dodridge, Michael Driver, and Brandi Mullins. The Spadoni College of Education values collaborative research with graduate and undergraduate students and encourages participation and sharing in state, regional, and national conferences.
