Kappa Delta Pi is an international honors society in education committed to recognizing excellence and fostering mutual cooperation, support, and professional growth for educational professionals. The KDP motto is: “So to Teach, So to Serve, So to Live.” The Rho Chi Chapter at CCU was founded in 1990. The club currently has 10 officers and is looking forward to upcoming inductions in October. Currently there are over 190 students eligible for induction. KDP is known for the involvement in several community activities. Currently KDP is fundraising for the Heart Walk and taking donations online. This semester KDP will also be participating in the Coat Drive for Waccamaw Elementary in Conway, S.C. KDP will have drop boxes located within the community for residents to donate. KDP also plans to sponsor one class at a local school to attend the Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach. Requirements for joining KDP are a 3.25 GPA and acceptance into the Education Professional Program.
